Fairvue Plantation is located just 25 minutes from Nashville in Sumner County between
the towns of Gallatin and Hendersonville.  We are in the City limits of Gallatin. 

With the new extension of the Vietnam Veterans Blvd. (386) this area has seen steady growth.
With the architectural controls of the cities, all new construction is built to compliment
the beautiful atmosphere of Sumner County.  The Indian Lake area developments with shopping,
restaurants, parks, library, cinema, businesses and more are a great asset to the community
and a wonderful place to enjoy.

The people here are friendly and welcome new residents openly.  Even though you are only 25
minutes from Nashville the area has its own sense of community.  Because of the new growth,
this area has residence moving in from all parts of the country.  There are many options for
worship as well.  Hendersonville area was voted one of the Top 10 Towns to Raise a Family for

The excellent road system allows for easy travel around the county as well as commuting to Nashville
or accessing the interstate system from any direction. 

Living in the Gallatin City limits you will experience low property taxes, utilities and other
expenses.  Added along with the no state income tax for Tennessee the overall living expenses are
among the lowest in the country.  Over the past 30 years Tennessee has ranked 47th among the 50 states.
The only individual income tax in Tennessee is a flat 6% on dividends and interest income.
There are no state property taxes.

Gallatin's total property taxes for 2009 were at a rate of $3.0108 and calculated as follows:

To calculate the tax on your property, assume you have a house with an APPRAISED VALUE of $500,000.
The ASSESSED VALUE is $125,000 (25% of $500,000), and the TAX RATE for Gallatin and Sumner County is
at $3.0108 per hundred of assessed value. To figure the tax simply multiply the assessed value
($125,000) by the tax rate (3.0108 per hundred dollars assessed).

                          $125,000 / 100 = 1,250 x $3.0108 = $3,763.50

The tax bill for a $500,000 home in 2009 would be $3,763.50
