Short Game Skills Challenge
For your eyes only! Take some simple challenges to evaluate your present skill level yourself. Find out where you excel and where you can improve. Then test your skills a second time to see how much you have improved over the season. Only you write down your points for each skill challenge and then check them in September. How do you know what to work on in order to lower your scores?
The Bergin Cup-Qualifier
All Fairvue men golfers are encouraged to participate. To qualify for the 2nd annual matches on May 14th & 15th you'll need to have one of the 12 low net qualifying scores recorded beginning April 1st. There is no limit to the number of times you can attempt, but you must declare your intentions to qualify with the golf staff before you tee off.
Ladies Opening Day & Luncheon
The 2010 Ladies Golf Program for both 18 & 9 holes officially begins the first week of April. Opening Day provides a fun and social environment allowing our lady golfers a chance to reacquaint themselves and meet other ladies who share a common interest in golf.
Grand Slam Draw
Draw a partner, play golf and watch the Grand Slam at the Club. The team score will be the aggregate total of your Saturday score (stroke play with full handicap) and the Professional's score.
Medalist Cup-Spring & Fall Member/Guest
A great opportunity to bring a friend or business associate to the Club for an afternoon of golf, food, and fun. We'll go to the course for a lighthearted competition and convene upstairs after play to partake in the featured dinner and share stories of the day. Guests must have established USGA handicaps or at least 5 scorecards from the current season.
The Bergin Cup
Team Fairvue will travel to host club Chattanooga Golf & CC to defend the cup from our friendly foes down south. To be on Team Fairvue, you'll need to have one of the 12 low net qualifying scores. Our goal is simple: establish new friendships and take advantage of every tiny opening toward victory.
Couples' Kick-Off "Wine & Nine"
One of many fun filled and popular couples events to come at the club in '10. These events are for all skill levels and cover many formats that tend to be more of a social event with a tournament atmosphere mixed in. This particular event will find us playing 9 holes of golf with a different wine served on several Tee Boxes. Dinner and awards will follow play. Sure to be a relaxing and "spirited" evening out.
Singles Match Play Championship
Fairvue Plantation invites you to participate in one of the main forms of competition.
This format pits players one against another, rather than one against the field as in stroke play. Each player is responsible for setting up their matches with their opponent. Opponents compete to win individual holes, and the player who wins the most holes wins the match. This format allows all level of players to participate. There will be four flights consisting of: Scratch, Handicap, Senior Handicap, and Ladies Handicap.
Fourball Match Play Championship
In Fourball, each side consists of two players. Each player plays his or her own ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low ball of the two players serves as that side's score. Much like the Singles Match Play, each team is responsible for setting up their matches with their opponent. All matches must be played within the specified dates as stated on the official bracket in the Golf Shop.
Junior Golf Kick-Off
Fairvue Plantation is once again conducting a Junior Golf Kick-Off day to jump start the 2010 Junior Golf Program. We are inviting all our junior golfers and their parents to Fairvue for fun and games. The practice tee and putting green are set up for junior golfers to hit golf balls, try out new equipment, participate in various skills challenges, and enjoy some delicious ice cream.
